Here’s a practical guide to help you ensure that your railings and barriers remain safe, compliant, and durable.

Why Regular Checks Matter

A loose, corroded, or damaged railing can create a false sense of security. It may look stable, but it can fail at the very moment it’s needed most. That’s why regular inspection and maintenance routines are essential. Many accidents happen because small issues go unnoticed — a missing bolt, a bent post, or a faded warning sign can all lead to dangerous situations.

Regular checks are not just about safety; they’re also a legal requirement. In the UK, employers and site managers have a duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to ensure that all protective barriers and guardrails are in sound condition and inspected regularly.

Schedule Routine Inspections
